Medium crimson. Fresh raspberry, red plum aromas with herb garden notes. Supple and minerally raspberry, red plum, redcurrant fruits, fine lacy/ chalky tannins, attractive mid-palate volume and long, crunchy acidity. Finishes peppery with chinotto notes. A medium-bodied, juicy grenache with attractive freshness and mineral length. From 1840s vines, some of the oldest in the Barossa Valley. Now–2025 Seppeltsfield Grenache 2021 G 94 Medium-deep crimson. Exuberant dark plum, raspberry, cranberry fruits with tropical notes. Abundant primary dark plum, raspberry flavours, fine slinky textures, superb mid-palate volume and plentiful fresh acidity. Finishes chalky with persistent sweet fruit/ aniseed notes. Very youthful and expressive. Now–2026 Turkey Flat Vineyards Grenache 2020 G 94 Medium crimson. Intense raspberry, chinotto aromas with star anise notes. Well concentrated pure raspberry, musky plum flavours, fine slinky dry textures and persistent fresh acidity. Finishes chalky with a kick of alcohol at the finish. Very expressive. Now–2027 Z Wine August Basket Pressed Old Vine Grenache 2021 G 94 Medium crimson. Intense primary raspberry, mulberry aromas with aniseed notes. Slurpy wine with saturated raspberry, redcurrant, plummy fruits, fine chalky textures and fresh long acidity. Finishes chalky and fruity. Not for the long term, but exuberant and delicious to drink. 2022–2024 Arila Gardens Sand Garden Grenache 2020 G 94 Medium-deep crimson. Brooding aromas of intense dark plum, blackberry and liquorice aromas with graphite, herb notes adding a savoury edge. Then, richly flavoured in the mouth with plentiful dark berry fruits, attractive mid-palate density and underlying mocha, roasted walnut flavours before finishing chalky and long. Now–2032
