Gatt Wines High Eden Shiraz 2019

G 91

Medium-deep colour. A supple and evolved shiraz with dark berry, red cherry, kirsch, graphite and coal dust aromas. Generous and smooth, there is an attractive array of developed red cherry, redcurrant fruits and fine lacy textures. With plenty of mid-palate viscosity, underlying oak complexity and attractive mineral length, it finishes with pleasing richness and texture. Now–2026 Hemera Estate Home Block Shiraz 2019 G 91 A big, upfront Barossan showing a medium-deep crimson colour before launching into redcurrant, luscious blackberry, herb garden aromas with mocha vanilla oak notes. Smooth and velvety textured, it displays ripe blackberry, mulberry, dark chocolate flavours supported by fine loose- knit al dente tannins and underlying toasty, vanilla, nougat oak before finishing a little bittersweet. Now–2030 Langmeil Winery Pure Eden Shiraz 2017 G 91 Medium-deep crimson and elegant with black olive, graphite, red cherry and redcurrant aromas. Medium bodied and supple, more red cherry, flinty, graphite flavours on the palate underpinned by fine, sinewy textures before a leafy finish with cola notes and slightly hard acidity. Now–2028 Laughing Jack Wines Greenock Shiraz 2018 G 91 Medium-deep crimson. A little reductive to start, with gentle graphite, liquorice and dark berry aromas. The palate is more expressive and well-developed with inky textures and plentiful graphite and dark berry flavours supported by fine loose-knit chalky tannins with crisp acid to finish. Now–2026 Paulmara Estates MARAnanga Shiraz 2020 G 91 Deeply coloured and a ripe, fleshy style of shiraz with sweet blueberry fruits front and centre, praline/mocha oak plus herb garden complexity. Then, well concentrated on the palate with cassis, blackcurrant, mocha, chinotto flavours, fine loose-knit supple tannins, and integrated acidity. An elegant style with lovely fruit definition and a chalky structure. Now–2028
