Well manicured aromas of black olive, dark berry and praline oak are replicated on a muscular palate supported by fine loose-knit chalky textures and fresh mineral acidity with a savoury tannin plume to finish. Ready to drink now but will also improve in the bottle. Now–2028 Wolf Blass Sapphire Label St John’s Shiraz 2018 G 92 Deep crimson. A generous, open knit, upfront style that leaps out of the glass with vibrant black olive, dark chocolate and dark cherry aromas. More of the same on the palate thanks to generous dark chocolate, dark cherry, blackberry fruits underpinned by fine chocolaty tannins and underlying savoury oak notes which come together nicely on a slinky finish. Now–2028 Bethany Wines East Grounds Shiraz 2018 G 91 Deep crimson in colour and a well composed Eden Valley Shiraz with intense liquorice, black cherry, and flinty aromas. Concentrated liquorice and sour black cherry flavours emerge on the palate supported by fine loose-knit chalky/gravelly tannins, before finishing brambly firm with intriguing aniseed complexity. Now–2026 Eden Hall Block 4 Shiraz 2015 G 91 Deep crimson in colour and showing some development with confected dark cherry, apricot with sweet vanilla and spicy oak aromas. Opulent blackberry apricot, sweet coffee/ espresso, vanilla nuts and gingerbread notes emerge on the the palate underpinned by fine chocolaty textures and finishing with touches of herb garden and spice. Now–2028 First Drop Wines The Cream Shiraz 2016 G 91 Deep crimson in colour and modern in style with powerful dark cherry, dark chocolate and liquorice aromas with pronounced oily walnutty oak. Well concentrated on the palate with dark cherry and again walnutty flavours underpinend by fine grippy/ loose-knit tannins and fresh long acidity. Drinking well but will hold over the medium term. Now–2028
