A bold Barossan here from Bethany with its deep colour followed by ample blackberry, mocha, praline, crème brûlée and toffee aromas. The palate is plush and ripe with sweet fresh blackberry, dark plum fruits, mocha roasted chestnut, slightly sweet vanilla complexity and chocolaty textures before finishing long and sweet with fresh mineral acidity. Now–2040 Dandelion Vineyards Red Queen of the Eden Valley Shiraz 2019 G 92 Deep coloured with fine and detailed aromas of intense spice, black cherry and dark chocolate with lifted herb and aniseed complexity. Impressive concentration of dark berry, dark chocolate flavours with mocha oak notes are well matched to fine chalky/ al dente tannins and fresh indelible acidity. Quite high-pitched in structure but may settle down with time. Now–2032 Elderton Wines Neil Ashmead Grand Tourer Shiraz 2020 G 92 Deep crimson in colour with fragrant dark cherry, chinotto, herb garden aromas with mocha notes. Well concentrated on the palate with supple dark cherry, dark chocolate, cola flavours, brambly textures and underlying savoury nuances before finishing grippy with attractive inky length. Now–2028 First Drop Wines ‘Fat of the Land’ Ebenezer Single Vineyard Shiraz 2016 G 92 Deep crimson. Ripe and muscular, there are intense dark berry, liquorice, wood varnish aromas with aniseed complexity. The palate is then generously concentrated with dark berry, slight tawny port notes, fine loose-knit slinky textures plus some attractive black olive graphite notes before finishing with firm tannins. Now–2028 Heathvale Wines Reserve Shiraz 2019 G 92 Medium-deep colour and shows waves of dense black cherry, kirsch and blackcurrant aromas with gentle mint and spice. Very rich and extractive wine on the palate with abundant sweet kirsch, cassis and dark chocolate flavours amply supported by brambly firm tannins. Now–2028
