Soul Growers Single Vineyard Hampel Shiraz 2019

G 93

Medium-deep crimson in colour with open knit, fleshy and intense dark chocolate, dark plum, blackberry aromas with graphite mocha toasty notes. Generous sweet almost jammy dark plum, dark chocolate flavours are supported by supple fine tannins and vanilla oak notes before finishing firm and long. Now–2028 Welland Lot 1 Shiraz 2019 G 93 Deep crimson. Intense dark cherry, blackberry fruit aromas with rich roasted chestnut oak plus touches of liquorice and ginger. Generous, plush and chocolaty on the palate with smooth dark berry fruits, fine chocolaty textures and plentiful roasted chestnut, vanilla, cedar notes before finishing firm with ample sweet fruits and fresh acidity. Now–2028 Wolf Blass Sapphire Label Lyndoch Shiraz 2016 G 93 Deep crimson and a distinctly modern example of Barossa Shiraz with its fragrant dark and red berry fruits with savoury notes well supported by sweet oak. Fresh black cherry, redcurrant fruits, fine slinky tannins and plentiful savoury oak complexity provide a pleasing palate that finishes chalky with a minerally edge. Now–2028 Yalumba Eden Valley Syrah Shiraz 2019 G 93 Medium-deep in colour and shows impressive focus with dark cherry, plum, graphite, cola and herb garden aromas and flavours. Fine graphite muscular tannins and underlying savoury oak complexity provide structure to this elegant style, so it will continue to drink well over the medium term. Now–2026 Calabria Family Wines Saint Petri Shiraz Carignan 2018 G 93 A generously styled, unashamedly bold Barossan, with concentrated chocolate and blackberry liqueur aromas with dense vanillin oak in support. Full-flavoured and quite luscious with powerful inky, blackberry fruits lifted by more than a touch of savoury complexity, underpinned by quite supple tannins with warming alcohol to finish. A big style to enjoy over the short to medium term. Now–2028
