Medium-deep crimson and a seductive wine showing a touch of development with classical dark cherry, blackberry, mocha aromas with chinotto cola complexity. Well balanced dark cherry, blackberry, liquorice and mocha flavours follow, well supported by fine graphite/chocolaty textures before finishing chalky firm and minerally long. Well suited to enjoyment over the medium term. Now–2030 Head Wines Wilton Hill Shiraz 2018 G 95 Medium-deep crimson. A nuanced and detailed style of Barossa Shiraz with fresh blackberry, dark chocolate, spicy mocha and ginger aromas. Well concentrated on the palate with blackberry, dark chocolate, mocha flavours, attractive mid-palate richness and fine chalky tannins. Very well balanced and a classical wine. Now–2030 Kalleske Wines Greenock Shiraz 2020 G 95 Deep crimson and immediately shows itself to be a serious wine with intense blackberry, liquorice, dark chocolate aromas with grilled nut, marzipan oak complexity. Concentrated blackberry, liquorice, mocha flavours are beautifully supported by pronounced chalky dry vigorous tannins and underlying fine crisp acidity before finishing firm with plentiful sweet fruits. Ageworthy with a long life ahead. 2024–2035 Kalleske Wines Johann Georg Shiraz 2018 G 95 Medium-deep crimson and a traditionally robust Barossan style with bold redcurrant, red cherry, apricot, mocha and grilled aromas with herb garden/ chinotto complexity. Richly flavoured and complex, there is lovely mid-palate viscosity, fine lacy textures and mineral length to provide a wine that is delicious now but will also improve over time. Now–2028 Langmeil Winery The Freedom 1843 Shiraz 2018 G 95 Medium-deep crimson and a powerful yet reserved Barossan with espresso, roasted walnut oak and red fruit aromas to start. It then builds on the palate with concentrated redcurrant, red cherry, mulberry fruits, roasted coffee, walnutty, sandalwood flavours with fine al dente, chewy textures and underlying fresh acidity.
