Medium-deep tawny. Intense heady panforte, orange rind, apricot, prunes, roasted nuts, shellac, cloves, herbs and aniseed aromas. Beautifully concentrated old tawny with fresh panforte, dried apricot, prunes, roasted nuts, roasted walnut, caramel, liquorice, waxy flavours, fine velvety textures, abundant mid-palate density/ sweetness and superb underlying pure linear/ aniseed notes. Now–2035 Henschke The Rose Grower Nebbiolo 2018 G 95 Developed light-medium crimson. Intensely fresh raspberry, redcurrant, marzipan, dried rose aromas with sage notes. Well concentrated, buoyant and sweet-fruited with raspberry, strawberry, redcurrant fruits, underlying marzipan, roasted walnut notes, supple slinky textures and long crisp acidity. Finishes al dente and minerally with plentiful red fruits. Maturation in seasoned French oak hogsheads for 20 months has led to impressive complexity, vigour and palate viscosity. A standout Australian Nebbiolo with the beautiful atmospheric smell of rainwater and noticeable sub-regional sage notes. Although the colour is a touch advanced, this has impressive presence and suppleness. Now–2028 After Five Wine Co Aglianico 2019 G 93 Deep colour. Red cherry, redcurrant, cranberry aromas with lifted herb garden, aniseed notes. Lovely slurpy wine with plentiful redcurrant, cranberry, plum, red cherry fruits, fine vigorous chalky tannins, and linear fresh acidity with all the elements in balance. Finishes firm, crisp and juicy. Now–2027
