Soul Growers Single Vineyard Graciano 2020

G 93

A fine example of Barossan Graciano with an array of complex dusty, old tobacco aromatics over a base of tar and blackberries. Dry and juicy, it’s punchy and savoury with delicious tarry flavours plus a meaty/peppery lift supported by muscular tannins which help to provide an extended finish. Loads of personality here and a super food wine. 2023–2028 After Five Wine Co Montepulciano 2019 G 92 Deep colour. Fresh blueberry, blackberry, dark cherry fruits with hints of sage and mint. Persistent juicy dark cherry, blackberry pastille fruits, lovely mid-palate generosity and fine chalky/ chewy tannins. Finishes chocolaty firm with plentiful dark fruits and minty notes. Very good density and attack! Now–2027 Garden and Field Wines Gnadenberg Road Refosco Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 G 92 Bit of an unusual blend here – cabernet sauvignon and refosco – but it works. An inky colour to start with dense sweet fruits – chocolate, blueberries and raisins in the mix with lashings of sweet oak. A full- bodied palate with a serious kick follows with oak, sweet blueberry fruits, acid and tannins providing quite the show, although oak seems a little high, so best to give this plenty of time to settle and serve it up with An intriguing blend of Sangiovese and Barbera that is already drinking well with its savoury, earthy, dried herb aromas on a base of vibrant plums. A dry, juicy palate follows with upfront sweet, dark berry fruits with a dusting of herbal complexity plus supple tannins to finish. Now–2024 Greenock Creek Durif 2020 G 91 Deep crimson. Intense dark plum, black cherry, praline aromas with brambly notes. Saturated palate with dark plum, hint prune, black cherry, kirsch flavours and plentiful fine gritty/ al dente tannins. Dense and willowy. Now–2026 slow-cooked meats. 2028–2035 Langmeil Winery Della Mina Sangiovese Barbera 2020 G 92
