The Willows Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

G 92

Medium-deep crimson. An expressive and minerally expression of Barossa Cabernet with blackcurrant, leafy, minty, bush garrigue aromas and flavours. Fresh and sweet-fruited with ample black fruits, the palate is well supported by fine al dente grippy/ leafy tannins and vanilla notes, and will drink well over the medium term. Now–2028 Gatt Wines Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 G 91 Deep crimson in colour with intense, youthful blackcurrant and plum sweet fruit aromas with cola complexity. Inky textured on the palate, it offers up red and dark berry fruits, fine slinky textures and underlying vanilla notes with musky violets to finish. Now–2028 Medium-deep crimson and a ripe expression of cabernet with intense blackcurrant and mocha aromas with hints of toffee, herb and aniseed notes before moving into a well balanced and generous palate with more blackcurrant, mocha flavours underpinned by fine chalky al dente textures. Now–2032 Peter Lehmann Wines Hill & Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 G 91 Heathvale Wines Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 G 91 An honest and hearty Barossan Cabernet Sauvignon with good depth of colour and followed by rounded and open-knit aromas with good typicity thanks to leafy, cassis fruits with cedar oak in the background. Fruit is supple and soft, although tannins are quite firm, so a bit of an old-fashioned Barossan dry red that needs a couple of years to come around. 2024–2028 Heathvale Wines The Encounter Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 G 90 Medium-deep crimson and quite fleshy in style thanks to blackcurrant, blackberry aromas with some dark chocolate notes. Then well concentrated on the palate with blackcurrant, blackberry chocolaty flavours, fine loose-knit chalky tannins and underlying savoury complexity before finishing cedary firm. Now–2028
