Medium deep crimson. Fragrant raspberry, musky/ violet/ camomile aromas with ginger nuances. Sweet fruited and juicy with ample raspberry jam, red plum fruits, fine slinky al dente textures and fresh juicy acidity. Finishes a touch grippy with seductive sweet fruits and liquorice complexity. Very appealing bistro-type wine. Drink now–2028 Inkwell Infidels 2020 Primitivo $30 G 95 Medium deep crimson. Musky plum, apricot, nectarine aromas with aniseed/ violet notes. Modern, expressive and fleshy with ample dark plum, raspberry, apricot, prune flavours, chocolaty firm tannins and underlying roasted chestnut/ vanilla notes. Finishes chalky firm and sweet. Exotic Zin & Zen wine with abundant sweet fruits, impressive volume and vigour. Drink now–2028 14.6% alc Kay Brothers Cuthbert 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon $49 G 95 Medium deep colour. Very attractive blackcurrant pastille, praline aromas with espresso, roasted hazelnut complexity. Richly concentrated and inky deep with rich choco-berry fruits, espresso/ mocha complexity and grainy/ a touch leafy tannins. Finishes firm with persistent dark berry fruits, a long tannin plume and ferruginous energy. Drink now– 2032 13.5% alc Reynella 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon $95 G 95 Deep crimson. Intense blackberry, cassis, roasted almond/ chestnut aromas with star anise, herb garden notes. Well concentrated and velvety with ample blackberry, blackcurrant fruits, fine loose knit grainy tannins, very good mid-palate volume and well-balanced roasted chestnut/ vanilla complexity. Builds up grainy/ cedar firm at the finish with plenty of mineral length. A classic Cabernet style with ample ripe fruits, lovely complexity and torque that should integrate further with bottle age. Drink 2024–2038 14% alc Battle of Bosworth 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon $28 G 94 Deep crimson. Classic blackcurrant/ cassis aromas with cedar/mocha notes and herb garden/chinotto nuances. Stylish Cabernet with ample blackcurrant pastille, slight graphite/ peat complexity, fine slinky leafy textures and well-balanced vanilla/ mocha notes. Finishes firm and spicy. Very good fruit density, sinewy structure and torque. Drink now–2030
