Medium deep crimson. Fragrant pure blackberry, musky plum aromas with underlying vanilla notes. Well-concentrated and ultra-ripe blackberry, spicy/ hint of clove flavours, some stone fruit notes, fine loose knit chalky textures, very good mid-palate volume and underlying vanilla, mocha complexity before finishing slinky and long. Plush fruit, elegant structure; a fascinating wine. Drink now–2030 14% alc Inkwell Deeper Well 2018 Shiraz G 94 Medium deep crimson. Lifted black cherry, chinotto aromas with espresso notes. Gentle and smooth with plentiful inky black cherry fruits chinotto espresso complexity, fine chalky/ lacy tannins, attractive mid- palate viscosity, and integrated fresh acidity. A medium-powered wine, building firm at the finish with tobacco leaf notes. Drink now–2028 14.2% alc Mitolo Wines Savitar 2019 Shiraz $105 G 94 Medium deep crimson. Black cherry, blackcurrant, dark chocolate mocha aromas with hint oyster shell notes. Inky deep with ample dark cherry, blackberry, fine supple tannins and underlying mocha oak complexity. Finishes chalky/ muscular firm and minerally. Drink now–2030 14.5% alc Serafino Wines Sharktooth 2020 Shiraz $70 G 94 Medium deep crimson. Intense blackberry, mulberry, cassis aromas with roasted chestnut notes. Velvety textured wine with ample blackberry, mulberry fruits, fine chocolaty tannins and underlying mocha/ espresso complexity. Finishes chalky firm with mineral notes. Drinks well 14.5% alc Shingleback Block D 2018 Shiraz $46 G 94 Deep crimson. Lovely complex blackberry jam, roasted walnut, wax polish aromas with sesame/ aniseed notes. Generous and densely packed wine with abundant blackberry, cassis flavours, fine chocolaty textures, very good mid-palate volume/ richness and underlying mocha/ wax polish notes. Finishes chocolaty firm with oyster shell/ peaty aniseed. Drink now–2028 14.5% alc
