Intense dark plum, blackberry, dark cherry with dark chocolate notes. Classical style with dark plum, blackberry fruits, fine gravelly textures and underlying roasted walnut, chinotto complexity. A slinky wine with lovely richness of flavour and mineral length. Brilliantly well-made. Drink now–2030 14.5% Bekkers 2020 Syrah Grenache $90 G 95 Medium deep crimson. Gorgeously scented wine with plentiful ripe plum, raspberry, blackberry fruits and underlying roasted almond/ walnut complexity. Buoyant and lively with saturated musky plum, raspberry fruits, lovely crisp fine tannins and fresh mineral acidity. Superb mid-palate density and richness before finishing chalky firm with plentiful red and black fruits. 56% Syrah/44% Grenache. A blend of four vineyards at Clarendon, Seaview and Blewitt Springs. Drink now–2030 14% alc Chapel Hill The Vicar 2020 Shiraz $75 G 95 Deep crimson. Intense bitter dark chocolate, blackberry, roasted chestnut aromas with wax polish notes. Beautifully concentrated wine with ample dark chocolate, blackberry, blackcurrant espresso flavours, with grainy, firm, a touch ferruginous tannins, superb mid-palate volume and underlying roasted chestnut/ vanilla/ hint ginger/ sesame complexity.
