Medium-deep crimson. Pure blackberry pastille, hint winter green aromas with vanilla notes. Medium-weighted wine with attractive blackberry pastille blackcurrant fruits, fine lacy dry, touch al dente tannins and some savoury notes. Finishes pippy firm with sappy/ chinotto notes. Bittersweet style. Now–2028. 13.4% alc Barossa Boy Double Trouble Shiraz Cabernet 2020 G 90 Deep crimson. Black olive, black cherry, blackcurrant aromas with lite bush garrigue notes. Fresh buoyant style with ample dark berry fruits, firm/ gravelly tannins, very good density and mineral length. Early drinking style. Now–2027. 14.5% alc Hesketh Wines Ebenezer Shiraz 2021 G 90 Medium-deep crimson. Raspberry, cranberry, dark plum aromas with hints of roasted walnut. Fresh sweet-fruited wine with plentiful raspberry cranberry, strawberry, dark plum flavours, fine loose-knit chalky acidity and long juicy fresh acidity. Now–2027. 14.5% alc Lindsay Wine Estate LWE Shiraz 2015 G 90 Deep crimson. Complex dark chocolate, blackberry, hint matchstick/ tobacco/ smoky aromas and flavours, fine lacy dry tannins and some savoury notes. Finishes al dente firm with tangy long acidity. Now–2028. 14.5% alc Orlando Wines Printz Shed Barossa Valley Shiraz 2020 G 90 Medium-deep crimson. Blackberry, hazelnut, black olive, hint flinty/ pondwater aromas and flavours. Well concentrated and inky with blackberry, raspberry fruits fine loose-knit al dente tannins, some black olive notes. Finishes long and minerally. Reduction blows off with some air. Beautifully concentrated wine with ample juicy plum, strawberry fruits, fine persistent lacy/ graphite textures, lovely quartz-like acidity. Really delicious wine with superb definition and completeness. Now–2028. 14.5% alc Cirillo 1850 Grenache 2016 G 97 Medium-deep crimson. Classical musky plum, dark cherry, earthy spice aromas. Generously concentrated wine with ample musky plum, raspberry fruits, with sandy tannins and beautiful mid-palate viscosity with quartz-like acidity. Exceptional wine with long aging potential. 2028–2035. 14.5% alc John Duval Wines Plexus Shiraz Grenache Mourvedre 2021 G 96 Deep crimson. Lovely dark plum. Blackberry, mocha aromas with lifted liquorice notes. A well-balanced wine with deep set blackberry, dark plum, dark chocolate fruits, fine cedary, gravelly tannins and integrated walnutty, sandalwood notes. Chocolaty finish. Seductive plate with fresh buoyant dark berry meaty flavours, chocolaty textures, lovely mid-palate richness and acid line. Lovely fruit complexity, richness of flavour and structure. Now–2028. 14.2% alc Tarrawatta Wines Ambervale Grenache 2020 G 96 Medium-deep crimson. Bittersweet chinotto red cherry aromas with nutmeg notes. Fresh and supple wine with ample red cherry strawberry chinotto flavours, loose-knit chalky textures, attractive mid-palate viscosity and well-balanced fresh acidity. Delicious wine.
