Deep crimson. Intense opulent blackberry jam, dark plum, stone fruit, roasted chestnut, hint marzipan aromas. Concentrated blackberry pastille, dark plum fruits, fine loose-knit velvety/chocolaty tannins and underlying crème brûlée/ roasted chestnut notes. Finishes chocolaty firm and minerally dry/long. Fruit and new oak in symmetry. Now– 2028. 15.5% alc Alkina Spice Garden Shiraz G 95 Deep crimson. Intense blackberry pastille, cherry stone, marzipan, wax polish aromas. Richly flavoured wine with deep set blackberry, elderberry fruits, fine loose-knit textures, sweet cranberry fruits, sweet and sour notes, fine vigorous slinky graphite tannins. Very attractive style; touch of roasted walnut. Very bright and expressive fruit-driven style. 100% whole bunch vinification. Matured in a combination of a seasoned 400L barrel and 1700L concrete tulip. Only 504 bottles made. 2024–2029. 13.2% alc
Medium-deep crimson. Attractive red currant mulberry dark plum aromas with roasted almond notes. Supple and expressive wine with inky red currant mulberry fruits, loose-knit lacy tannins and well-balanced savoury oak nuances. Some Parma violet notes at the finish with a touch of cedar. Well-concentrated mulberry, blackberry jam, fig flavours, attractive gravelly textures and roasted almond, espresso notes. Finishes chocolaty and long with cedar notes. Now–2026. 14.5% alc HARE’S CHASE Ironscraper Shiraz 2020 G 94 Deep crimson. Lovely mulberry, dark chocolate, graphite aromas with mocha, vanilla notes. Very well balanced wine with inky deep mulberry, blackberry pastille flavours, fine loose-knit tannins, lovely mid-palate volume and vanilla/ mocha notes. Finishes velvety and long. Lovely bittersweet finish. Now–2030. 14.8% alc Hayes Family Wines Estate Shiraz Stonewell Block. 1 2021 G 94 Medium-deep crimson. Attractive blackberry pastille, mulberry, mocha aromas with hints of bush garrigue. Well concentrated and minerally with blackberry pastille, mulberry, dark plum fruits, fine slinky textures and underlying savoury notes. Finishes cedary firm and minerally with chinotto notes. Now–2032. 14.5% alc Hayes Family Wines Nuri Ancestor Vine Shiraz 2021 G 94 Deep crimson. Blackcurrant, mint, bush garrigue aromas with dark chocolate notes. Massively concentrated wine with deep set blackcurrant, blackberry jam, firm grippy, touch pippy tannins and well-integrated dark chocolate notes. Finishes grippy firm with quartz-like acidity. Impressive with plenty of presence. Needs some time to come around. 2025–2034. 14.8% alc
