Yelland & Papps Single Vineyard Roussanne 2025

G 97

Mid yellow-gold. Arrives richly defined and intense in flavour in baked apple, peach, honeyed citrus, pear tarte tatin, warm toasty oak and jasmine florals in the background with a warm rounded nuttiness. Brings a deep presence to the glass with a richness of fruit elevated by acidity that is fresh and alive. Runs smooth and long. Now–2037 Torbreck Viognier 2025 G 96 Pale colour. Fresh apricot, tonic water aromas with herb garden notes. Generously concentrated and sweet-fruited with ample apricot, grapefruit glacé, verbena, grilled nut vanilla flavours, fine chalky textures, lovely mid-palate viscosity/creaminess and superb acid cut. Ginger notes at the finish. Voluminous and crunchy. Now–2030 Schwarz Wine Company Meta Grenache Blanc 2025 G 95 Mid-yellow. An alternative grape variety on the rise, one that is immediately irresistibly alluring with its mix of almost chardonnay-like complexity, creamy texture and presence in the glass. Bright aromas of citrus, spiced apple, poached pear, honeysuckle white florals and Asian herbal notes transform into something that runs much deeper in flavour on the palate – much deeper. Built on an elegant and inviting creaminess, citrus, pear and gentle stone fruit flavours, wild herbs meld with a natural mineral stoniness and balance. A wine that will take many by surprise. Now–2032 Torbreck Cuvée Juveniles Blanc Clairette, Marsanne, Roussanne, G 95 Viognier, Grenache Blanc 2026 Pale colour. Fresh lime, white peach tonic water aromas with herb notes. Generously concentrated white peach, apricot, lime pastille fruits, some tonic water notes, lovely mid-palate richness and fresh indelible acidity. Lovely line and length. 26% clairette (grafted on 100-year doradillo!), 25% marsanne, 21% roussanne, 17% viognier, 11% grenache blanc. Now–2030
