Medium pale crimson. Dried roses, strawberries, red cherries and orange peel with hints of chinotto. Supple and silky textured with lovely complex strawberry pastille, candied red cherry, touch cola/chinotto/ orange flavours, lovely lacy firm tannins, superb mid-palate viscosity and underlying mineral acidity. Finishes long and minerally with seductive and complex sweet fruits. Really lovely to drink now but should keep. 13% alc Now–2036 Hewitson Old Garden Mourvedre 2023 G 96 Deep crimson. Composed musky plum, meat safe and liquorice allsorts aromas with strong spicy notes. Blackberry, dried herb and exotic spice flavours with notes of cranberry and roasted walnut are well supported by sinewy tannins. Very youthful with excellent potential over the next decade at least. 2027–2034 Arila Gardens Moppa Saperavi 2024 G 94 Deep purple-crimson. Delves into ripe, dark-purple fruit, plum, loganberry, dark chocolate, moist earth, sweet oak. Rich, fuller-bodied style featuring controlled oak in leather and sweeping tannins. Big, bold, but also approachable. Now–2037 Thorn-Clarke Wines Single Vineyard Selection Malbec 2024 G 94 Deep crimson. Assured, smooth and textural, and, above all, a warm- hearted example of what the Barossa Valley does so well. Earth, blackberry, blueberry intertwine with herbals of caraway and fennel seed and lifted florals on the aroma. Tailored beautifully to reflect both fruit ripeness, deep spice, aromatic purity and lift on a palate of ripe, earthy tannins. Now–2036 Barritt Vineyards Ringo Zinfandel 2023 G 93 Deep crimson. A big, über rich concentrated wine that goes full-on zinfandel. Aromas of earth, briar, super-ripe fruit, plum, black liquorice, earth, blackberry jam and furniture polish. The palate comes laced in complex, savoury, earthy tannins, one layer of many, fitting between sweet ripe fruit, dark chocolate, blackberry jam, briar, blackstrap liquorice, leather polish. Goes big, goes long. Now–2033
