Old school durif style that captures both the grape’s power and its rich depth of flavour. Dark ripe plums, berries, loganberry and woody spices meet Aussie bush notes, cedary oak and blackstrap liquorice on the aroma. Full-bodied and a little controlled by oak, the palate mixes sweeping tannins with a deep richness of fruit, spice, dark chocolate- mocha, and oak. Big and bold, but also approachable. Now–2038 Dewey Station Wines Junction 1 Graciano, Shiraz 2024 G 93 Deep crimson. A wine very much in building mode with cedary oak and furniture polish notes mixing with black fruits and dark spice on the aroma. Benefits from time open, revealing a ripe generosity of black fruit, loganberry and plum on the palate, herbs, woody spices, a buttered toastiness and hints of smoky savouriness with supercharged earthy tannins in force. Deep crimson. Quiet to start, but with time in the glass a lovely balance comes into effect, combining black plums and blue fruits, juby pastille, black liquorice, wild herbs, autumnal leaves, earth and grilled nuts. Nicely tuned in oak and delivered along savoury, earthy tannins. Well made and quietly compelling. Now–2036 Henschke The Nurturer 2025 G 93 Light crimson. A potpourri of red plum, strawberry, dried roses and red liquorice. Soft sinuous and lacy with strawberry red plum, red cherry herb flavours, silky textures and underlying persistent red liquorice and star anise notes. A lovely pinotesque drinking style with suppleness and flow. Not a blockbuster but delicious. A great result with an underlying fruit salad of varieties. 33% counoise, 16% shiraz, 14% grenache, 13% grenache gris, 11% Carignan, 8% clairette and 5% cinsault in harvest order. Six months maturation in new (16%) and seasoned French oak puncheons. Appropriately named The Nurturer after Prue Henschke, whose work as a viticulturist and horticulturist has inspired several generations now. 13% alc Now–2028
