Deep crimson. Attractive pure dark berry, chinotto aromas with roasted coffee notes. Generous and inky-deep with abundant dark cherry, blackberry pastille fruits, grainy/granular tannins and integrated mocha/roasted walnut notes. Finishes bittersweet and crispy. Now– 2038 Barossa Boy Lifeblood Shiraz 2018 G 94 Deep crimson. Ripe blackberry pastille, desiccated plum, dark chocolate aromas with vanilla notes. Deeply set blackberry, dark chocolate fruits with hint molasses/mocha notes, fine chocolaty textures, lovely mid- palate volume and underlying fresh acidity. Sturdy and voluminous with ultra ripe fruit and sinuous structure. (Cork) Now–2034 Barr-Eden Estate Avenue To Gold Menglers Hill Eden Valley Shiraz 2022 G 94 Deep purple-crimson. Richly detailed in blue fruits, plum, dark berries, baking spices, chocolate, Aussie bush earth and hints of Christmas plum pudding. Shows its ripeness but also boasts an attractive complexity of deep flavour cut finely in firm tannins. Structure-wise it remains tight, muscular and intense and still has a way to go. Would welcome more time in bottle. Now–2036 Barritt Vineyards The Prof Shiraz 80%, Zinfandel 20% 2023 G 94 Deep, dense purple-crimson. Deep-set blackberry, black cherry, dark plum surrounded by intense flavours of dark chocolate, black liquorice, smoked meats and a sumptuous spiciness. Two years maturation in American and Hungarian oak brings forth a savoury earthiness and an oak-lined richness to the palate, bolstered firmly and grounded in robust tannins. It’s still early days. Needs time. Now–2040 Calabria Family Wines The Iconic Barossa Shiraz 2018 G 94 Deep crimson. Ripe blackberry, mocha, marzipan aromas with chinotto notes. Richly concentrated blackberry, marzipan flavours, chocolaty touch ferruginous tannins and fresh long mineral acidity. Firm bittersweet tannins. Sturdy and yet voluminous. Now–2036
