Deep crimson. Liquorice, praline, kirsch, dark plum aromas with graphite notes. Elderberry, kirsch, blackberry pastille fruits and plentiful chocolaty/velvety tannins. Chewy/cedary finish with some leafy nuances. Very good vinosity, purity and flow. 1950- and 1965-planted vines. 2028–2040 Henschke Keyneton Euphonium Vineyard 2023 G 96 Deep crimson. Lifted inky dark cherry, dark plum, cassis aromas with fragrant herb notes. Generous and velvety with abundant dark cherry pastille, blackcurrant glacé, supple ripe tannins and underlying notes of marzipan and roasted notes. Black olive/herb/minerally notes emerge at the finish giving further line and length. An exemplary 65th vintage! 65% shiraz, 33% cabernet sauvignon, 2% cabernet franc, 69% Eden Valley, 31% Barossa Valley. 17 months maturation in new (10%) and seasoned French oak hogsheads. 14.5% alc Now–2038+ Jenke Vineyards 7th Generation Old Vine Shiraz 2023 G 96 Deep crimson. Lovely strawberry, raspberry pastille aromas with dark chocolate/espresso notes. Classical in structure with smooth strawberry, raspberry, plummy fruits, supple tannins, buoyant mid-palate and underlying roasted walnut notes. Finishes velvety with fresh mineral length. Understated yet beautifully balanced. Early to mid-term drinking, I would think. Now–2030 Kalleske Wines Johann Georg Shiraz 2022 G 96 Deep crimson. Fragrant blackberry, hint stone fruit spice, pepper aromas with dark chocolate notes. Richly flavoured with pure dense inky blackberry, apricot fruits, supple velvety tannins and well-integrated marzipan, roasted chestnut, hazelnut notes. Finishes chocolaty and spicy. Superb fruit definition, richness and mineral/aniseed line. 2028–2042 Penfolds Bin 150 Marananga Shiraz 2024 G 96 Deep crimson. Beautiful fragrant blackberry pastille, hint marzipan aromas with touch of chinotto notes. Well-concentrated blackberry, dark plum, cassis fruits, fine chocolaty textures and underlying marzipan, hint vanilla notes. Finishes chocolaty, long and minerally with a plume of lacy tannins. A lovely Barossa Shiraz with generosity, purity and understated power. The weight of suspended time. 16 months in primarily 61% seasoned French (3% new) and 34% seasoned American oak (2% new) hogsheads. Drink now – 2038+. 14.5% alc
