Pale lemon. A restrained riesling, quiet and subdued and slow to reveal. It is going to take a while to show its qualities. Aromas of green apple, grapefruit, lemon, and spring flowers. Older vines bring a quality that combines a light texture with deeply concentrated flavour. There is an intensity to the fruit released as lemon curd, zest and grapefruit pith with green apple. Super bright and zesty, running clean and brisk. Has yet to reveal all of its charm. Now–2046 Poonawatta The Eden Riesling 2026 G 96 Pale lemon. Fine, intense dusty, earthy citrus notes, curry leaf, Asian lime and pear. A young riesling showing early complexity and depth of flavour with a light savoury influence in league with a coiled acidity on the back palate. A peppery spiciness lights up the wine with energy and life. Now–2039 Barossa Boy Cheeky Tilly Riesling 2025 G 95 Inviting and bright in apple, citrus, Asian curry leaf, light herbal notes. Brings a brisk and highly energetic acidity to the palate in charge of tight lemon-lime citrus, green apple, leaf, with wet rock mineral tang. Good depth married to serious citrus intent. Made for extra time in bottle. Now–2035 Grant Burge Thorn Riesling 2025 G 95 Pale lemon-yellow. Lifted aromas of white florals, gardenia, English garden notes with citrus, apple, hints of musk. Super bright and zesty across the palate featuring citrus and apple with a mealy, bready note and developing texture. Assertive acidity throughout drives the palate, finishing on a note of Williams pear. Now–2035 Hentley Farm Eden Valley Riesling 2026 G 95 Exhibits plenty of Eden Valley floral charm in aromas of orange blossom, spring flowers, lime, lemon-grapefruit citrus, lime cordial, apple and spice. Deeply concentrated, the palate is seamlessly arranged along an acid-sweet-fruited exchange lively in tingly citrus fruits, lemon pastille notes, lime, citrus skin and a light but compelling spiciness.
