Château Suduiraut 93–94 Pale medium colour. Intense honey, lemon curd, ginger honey aromas. Richly concentrated honey lemon, almost treacle, honey, apricot flavours. Quite heavy and rich with toasty vanilla oak marzipan.Very low yielding year at just 0.9 hectolitres/ hectare. Only three tries (picking sequences). 100% semillon. 16–20 months in 50% new and 50% second-use French 92–93 Pale medium colour. Lifted apricot lemon curd varnishy aromas with toasty elements. Well concentrated toasty lemon curd, apricot flavours, fine loose-knit chalky/al dente tannins, very good mid-palate viscosity and fresh linear acidity. Underlying firm structure. 100% semillon. 10 months in oak followed by 9 months in stainless steel. 13% alc Château de Rayne Vigneau 92–93 oak barriques. 14% alc Château Doisy Daëne Pale medium colour. Lifted apple musky pear apricot, honey spice aromas. Richly flavoured apricot, peach musky pear flavours, fine chalky textures and fresh minerally acidity. Very good richness and mineral length. 71% semillon, 28% sauvignon, 1% muscadelle. 18 months in new (roughly 30%) and seasoned French oak. 13.5% alc Château de Fargues 91–92 Medium colour. Sweet fruited nectarine sweet apple, honey, waxy aromas and flavours. Ample sweet honey, nectarine fruits and fine chalky textures. Very concentrated, thick and sweet. Chewy finish. Heavily botrytised wine. 80% semillon, 20% sauvignon. 30 months in French oak. 13% alc

Château Coutet 95–96 Pale medium colour. Attractive verbena, camomile, honey aromas with crème brûlée notes. Refined and beautiful apricot glacé, verbena lime honeyed flavours, fine chalky hint al dente textures and fresh linear acidity. Bittersweet notes at the finish. 75% semillon, 23% sauvignon blanc, 2% muscadelle.18 months in new and seasoned French oak. 13% alc Château La Tour Blanche 95–96 Pale medium colour. Intense lemon curd, lime, nectarine honey aromas with herb garden notes. Very concentrated with lemon curd, lime, stone fruit flavours, superb honey/ toasty complexity, fine chalky textures and lovely mid-palate viscosity. Finishes sweet, chalky and minerally. Works very well. 69.5% semillon, 22.5% muscadelle, 8% sauvignon. Usually 16 months in 100% new French oak. 13.5% alc Château Sigalas Rabaud 94–95 Pale medium colour. Fresh tangerine, white peach apricot aromas with honey vanilla notes. Well concentrated tangerine white peach honey flavours, underlying vanilla oak complexity, fine chalky textures and superb mid-palate viscosity. Finishes sweet and minerally. Very good. 85% semillon, 15% sauvignon blanc. 18 months new (around 25%) and 93–94 Medium pale. Fresh lifted apricot honey aromas with toasty vanilla notes. Generous and supple with intense apricot, nectarine, honey flavours, attractive mid-palate density, chalky textures and fresh linear acidity. Very classical with lovely botrytis complexity and mineral length. 8–12 months in new and seasoned French oak. 13% alc Château Clos Haut-Peyraguey 93–94 Pale medium colour. Attractive nectarine apricot sweet apple aromas with honey notes. Generously concentrated and viscous with ample stone fruit honey flavour and fine chalky textures. Very good mid-palate density and integrated crisp acidity. 60% semillon, 40% sauvignon blanc. 20 months in 30% new and seasoned French oak. 13.7% alc Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey 93–94 Pale medium colour. Fresh golden pear, apricot, peach aromas with honey biscuity notes. Richly flavoured wine with ample apricot peach, nectarine flavours, creamy richness and fresh crisp acidity. Thickly concentrated Sauternes with bittersweet notes. 93% semillon, 7% sauvignon blanc. 10 months in around 30% new French oak and then 8 months in inert vat before bottling. 13+% alc seasoned French oak. 13.5% alc Château Bastor-Lamontagne
