Medium-deep crimson in colour and opens with robust red and black cherry fruits and dark chocolate aromas with herb sage and a hint of bush garrigue. Richly concentrated with excellent vinosity and layers of red and black cherry fruits, praline notes, fine chocolaty textures and fresh crisp acidity. Finishes long, slinky and minerally with excellent focus and drive. Now–2040 Laughing Jack Wines Carl Albert Shiraz 2018 G 94 A deeply coloured and flavoured wine with medium-deep crimson hue followed by intense dark chocolate, mocha dark plum and black cherry aromas. Plush and velvety textured, it also displays plentiful choco-berry fruits, fine supple tannins and integrated savoury oak before finishing chalky firm with minerality. Now–2030 Max & Me Estate Grown Shiraz 2018 G 94 Medium-deep crimson with attractive fresh blackberry, spicy cinnamon, dark chocolate aromas before moving more into fruit pastilles on the palate. It’s a very expressive Eden Valley Shiraz with fine supple textures and attractive mid-palate viscosity finishing chalky firm with excellent mineral length. Now–2028 Orlando Wines Centenary Hill Shiraz 2015 G 94 Deep colour with beautiful, glossy aromas of mocha and dark berry with aniseed, violet notes. Ample blackberry, dark chocolate, mocha flavours underlined by fine bittersweet tannins and superb mid-palate richness before finishing claret-firm and vigorous with very good density and torque. Now–2035 Saltram Wines The Journal Shiraz 2017 G 94 Medium-deep colour and robust with roasted coffee, blackberry, red cherry aromas topped by aniseed, liquorice complexity. Generously proportioned, there is plentiful blackberry, espresso, mocha flavours supported by very good mid-palate density, fine chocolaty textures and inky mineral length. 2024–2032
