2022 Kalleske Wines Old Vine Grenache

This deeply flavoured rich Grenache exploded with aromas of dark cherry, red liquorice, cumin seed, and well matched oak. Dry, full poured, superb extract and power, density of fruit length and power. What a wine. With al dente/ sandy tannins drawing out an extended finish. Exceptional balance. 2028–2038 2019 Giaconda Nebbiolo G 96 Medium crimson. Beautiful fragrant red cherry strawberry, hint marzipan, roasted walnut aromas with hints of dark chocolate. Wonderfully complex and supple with red cherry pastille, strawberry, chinotto flavours, a hint of flint/graphite notes, fine loose-knit chalky/ velvety tannins, superb mid-palate viscosity and underlying marzipan, vanilla roasted walnut notes. Slinky and minerally at the finish. Very impressive with lovely density, silkiness and torque, if that’s not a contradiction! Now–2028 2022 Coriole Vineyards Grenache G 95 This young and vibrant 2022 Grenache is still a little closed, but offers a beautifully composed dark cherry, dried herb scented expression that is still in its shell. Excellent concentration to follow tightly wound in sandy tannin through to a long, drying finish. Very impressive and built to Medium crimson. Fragrant strawberry, red plum, chinotto aromas with herb notes. Generous, supple and lacy textured with plentiful strawberry, musky plum, chinotto flavours, fine chalky tannins, Lovely mid-plate viscosity and fresh animated/vibrant acidity. Now–2028 2021 Krondorf Stone Altar Old Vine Grenache G 95 Medium colour. Red cherry, red liquorice, musky plum, strawberry aromas. Very attractive strawberry, raspberry pastille, negroni flavours, fresh bittersweet/lacy tannins and well integrated roasted walnut notes. Finishes chalky with persistent quartz acidity. Lovely fruit complexity, richness, and vinosity. Now–2028 last. 2028–2035 2021 Chapel Hill Grenache G 95
