Purus Chardonnay 2022 This 2022 Chardonnay steps up a notch with French clones grown in the cooler sub-region of Karridale. Lovely finesse on show as it delivers chalky, melon and floral aromas with a good dash of spicy oak. Excellent tension and grip provide an attractive texture to underpin tightly coiled fruit power. Young and with good cellaring potential. Drink 2025–2033 Peccavi G 93 Peccavi Chardonnay 2021 Pale colour, Fresh tropical fruit, passion fruit, touch fig, lime aromas with grilled nut nuances. Sweet and juicy stone fruit flavours, underlying roasted chestnut, marzipan notes and fresh tangy acidity. Drinks very well. Drink now–2028 13.5% alc Flowstone G 93 Flowstone Chardonnay 2021 Pale colour. Intense grapefruit, lime, lemon curd grilled nut aromas with flinty notes. Generous and creamy with ample grapefruit nectarine fruits, lacy minerally al dente textures, underlying marzipan notes and fresh long acidity. Bittersweet, tonic water notes at the finish. Drink now–2028 12.5% alc Clairault Streicker G 93 Clairault Estate Chardonnay 2021 Pale medium colour. Lemon curd, lime, grapefruit aromas with sweet yellow peach notes and underlying grilled nut marzipan. Ripe and voluminous with ample yellow fruits, fine lacy textures, some grilled nut, tonic water notes and well integrated acidity. Drink now–soon 13% alc Domaine Naturaliste G 92 Floris Chardonnay 2022 This Mâcon-styled Chardonnay is a picture of elegance and refinement with its gentle layers of citrus, nougat and florals with a well placed whisper of oak. Freshness is the key with a linear, modern citrus and floral accented palate, lifted by a nice touch of grip to finish. Drink 2024–2030
