Firms up to a claret-like finish with persistent acidity. Retro modern style with very good density and definition. Richly concentrated wine with lovely dense dark cherry, cassis, panforte flavours, chocolaty firm tannins and well- balanced roasted chestnut, spicy notes. Finishes cedar firm with attractive bittersweet notes. Generous yet precise. Now–2032. 14.5% alc Peter Lehmann Mentor Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 G 95 Deep crimson. Powerful blackberry, blackcurrant, polished mahogany, dried herb aromas. Generously concentrated flavours of blackberry, liquorice, iron with mouthfilling viscosity, excellent volume and plentiful tannins. The chocolaty texture and well-integrated acidity suggest strong ageing potential. 2026–2036. 14.5% alc Whistler Wines Estate Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 G 95 Medium-deep crimson. Lifted cassis, blackberry, hint peppery aromas with a touch of roasted almonds. Fresh and peppery with attractive pure dark berry fruits, classical fine-grained tannins and some spicy marzipan notes. Deep crimson, unusual ripe apricot, dark plum, raspberry pastille aromas with hint marzipan notes. Wonderfully concentrated wine with gorgeous apricot, nectarine, raspberry, cassis flavours, superb chocolaty tannins and integrated marzipan notes. Finishes chocolaty firm with a whip of acidity and aniseed notes. Very different but really delicious wine to drink. Now–2030. 14% alc Kaesler Wines Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 G 96 Medium-deep crimson. Gentle cassis, blackberry pastille aromas with hint of marzipan/ roasted almond notes. Very appealing wine with lovely pure dark berry fruits, sinuous grainy tannins, lovely mid-palate density and underlying vanilla marzipan notes. Finishes claret-firm with mineral notes. Beautifully expressive wine with ample sweet cassis juicy blackberry flavours, lovely roasted almond/ marzipan, hint vanilla oak notes, sinuous grainy firm tannins and superb mineral length. Really well-made wine with superb clarity, complexity and torque. Now–2034. 14.5% alc Elderton Ode to Lorraine Barossa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz Merlot G 95 Deep crimson. Beautiful wine with intense blackcurrant pastille, cedar, vanilla aromas with hints of panforte. Pure dark berry fruits, lovely panforte, hint wax polish notes, classical grainy tannins and well- integrated roasted chestnut, vanilla notes. Builds up firm with seductive juicy dark berry fruits and savoury complexity. Now–2030. 14.9% alc Henschke Cyril Henschke Cabernet Sauvignon 2018 G 95 Medium-deep crimson. Intense cassis, roasted chestnut aromas with sage, herb garden notes. Inky deep blackcurrant, redcurrant fruits, fine chalky/ lacy tannins, lovely buoyancy, roasted walnut vanilla notes and fresh linear acidity. Finishes grainy firm and tight. Attractive claret-style wine with impressive fruit complexity and mineral torque. 2025–2042. 14.5% alc
