Deep crimson. Fresh dark cherry, chinotto aromas with graphite notes. Concentrated and balanced palate with pure dark cherry, hint musky plum, chinotto flavours, fine chalky tannins, very good mid-palate volume and integrated toasted almond, marzipan notes. Builds muscular firm and tight at the finish. Some more years to unravel, but generous and vigorous. 2028–2040 Head Wines ‘The Contrarian’, Eden Valley Shiraz 2025 G 95 Deep crimson. Attractive black cherry, praline aromas with herb garden notes. Beautifully concentrated and slinky in texture with ample choco-berry fruits, some meaty complexity and plentiful gravelly/ graphite tannins. Builds up chewy at the finish with excellent length of flavour. 2028–2040 Henschke Hill of Roses Shiraz 2022 G 95 Deep crimson. Intense dark cherry, dark chocolate espresso aromas with herb garden aromas. Pure and fruity with dark cherry, raspberry, chinotto, dark chocolate flavours, fine bittersweet, touch gravelly textures and underlying savoury notes. Still looking elemental and compact but lovely flavour and richness. Chocolaty firm and long. Will evolve. 1989 Post Office Block (Hill of Grace Vineyard) plantings. Matured for 20 months in 100% seasoned French oak hogsheads. 14.5% alc 2027–2028 Hentley Farm The Beauty Shiraz 2024 G 95 Deep crimson. Intense blackberry, dark plum aromas with mocha notes. Supple and velvety in textures with dark plum, blackberry apricot flavours and velvety textures. Finishes firm, tight and juicy. Generously portioned and fruit driven, but excellent weight and balance. Now– 2035 Hewitson 1853 Barrel Shiraz Mourvedre 2023 G 95 Opaque crimson. Multi-layered with focussed blackberry, chocolate and liquorice root with roasted walnut notes. Poised with bright roasted cherry, rhubarb flavours with dried herbs and supple ripe tannins before finishing bittersweet and juicy. 2028–2034
