Bright purple. Marries a brightness and purity of grenache expression with excellent depth of flavour. Earth, twig, woodsmoke, Aussie bush with a lovely elevated herbal influence over pronounced black cherry, plum and berries. Flavours are pure and concentrated, tannins fine and composed and beautifully finished. Now–2034 Torbreck Cuvée Juveniles Grenache, Mataro, Carignan, G 95 Counoise, Shiraz 2024 Medium crimson. Pretty strawberry pastille, red cherry, talc/marzipan aromas with hints of violet. Supple and lacy textured with lovely creamy red fruits and underlying persistent chalky tannins. The acidity and aniseed line keep it fresh and animated. Pretty exceptional for its price, RRP $30. 48% grenache, 31% mataro, 10% carignan, 6% counoise, 5% shiraz. Now–2030 Torbreck The Steading Grenache, Mataro, Shiraz 2024 G 95 Medium-deep crimson. Musky plum, red cherry, apricot aromas with praline, hint bush garrigue notes. Beautifully concentrated and fleshy with lovely plummy, strawberry, red cherry fruits, lovely mid-palate richness, and persistent and brisk chalky tannins. Underlying acidity gives crispness and line. 50% grenache, 30% shiraz, 20% mataro. Includes circa late-1840s (mataro) and 1893 (shiraz) plantings. Now–2030 Two Hands Wines Aerope Grenache 2021 G 95 Deep medium crimson. Attractive complexity, strawberry, boysenberry, bitumen, panforte and hint waxy aromas. Concentrated and expansive, sweet berry fruits, mocha, panforte and hint black olive. Plentiful, slinky fine-grain tannins. Attractive density and vigour. Now–2035 Elderton Winifred Grenache 2025 G 94+ Medium crimson. Red plum, cranberry, boysenberry, hint bush- garrigue and graphite notes. Supple and richly flavoured musky plum, boysenberry, attractive sweet red liquorice and savoury sarsaparilla flavours. Elegantly framed with plentiful chalky tannins, the wine builds up to a firm minerally finish. A vigour and structure that promises a long cellaring potential. Now–2036
