Medium crimson. Pure musky plum hint roasted walnut aromas with aniseed notes. Beautifully concentrated, supple and sweet-fruited with musky plum, strawberry fruit, fine lacy textures, lovely aniseed notes. Wonderful wine. Seven years young. Now–2035 Head Wines ‘Rare Tawny’ Batch #2 G 97 Tawny brown. Attractive aged characters lend the nose a lovely, welcoming deep scent of dried fruits, raisin, peel, toffee, walnut and aromatic spirit. Rich and potent to taste, silky in texture with lingering toffee, raisin, nuts, caramel and sweet vanillin with a brightness of spirit. Gorgeous all-round harmony. Now–2028 Seppeltsfield Wines Great Terraced Vineyard Single Vineyard Grenache 2024 G 97 Crimson red. A master winemaker in action employing the winery’s historic 1888 gravity cellar to create a Barossa grenache of poise and class. Shows a remarkable depth of flavour, concentration, with a generosity tempered beautifully by quality tannins. French oak-framed ripe black fruits, plum, wild raspberry, hints of cherry, amid dried herbs, violet, musk, anise, spice and woodsmoke. The balance is impressive. Will mature well. Now–2038 Kalleske Wines Old Vine Grenache 2024 G 96 Crimson red. Deeply concentrated aromas of red earth, mineral, black plum, anise, cassia bark, musk florals, lively spice. The palate is velvety and juicy with an attractive textural flow and flavours that run deep, enhanced by perfectly balanced fine tannins. A wine of quiet and engaging seriousness. Now–2036 Torbreck Les Amis Grenache 2023 G 96 Medium crimson. Strawberry, hint apricot, stone fruit, with hints of tobacco leaf. Concentrated strawberry, redcurrant, stone fruit, aniseed flavours, some graphite/chalky, ferruginous textures, a hint of vanilla, roasted almond, and underlying crisp acidity. Lovely complexity, vinosity and flow. Now–2040
