Levrier Wine by Jo Irvine Art Series Cabernet Franc 2022
G 92+
Deep crimson. Musky plum, blackberry, graphite, bitumen with hint soy aroma. Vibrant, black-fruited, choco-mint with savoury, graphite flavours. Attractive fruit sweetness with grippy fine-grained tannins and cedary finish. Now–2030 Corryton Burge The Brigadier Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 G 92 Deep purple. Ripe, mouth-watering blackcurrant, black fruit and plums join some highly aromatic and lifted notes of violets, earth, thyme and rosemary with strong menthol-minty notes. While inviting, the role of mint tends to dominate the palate, a sustained note among the dark fruits, dried herbs, cooking spices and choco-spiced oak, delivered on fine tannins. Now–2034 Hare’s Chase Hare & Hound Cabernet Sauvignon 80%, Shiraz 20% 2022 G 92 Deep crimson. Choco-berry, mint, aniseed, bitumen and hint iodine, cedar aromas. Vigorous, lifted wine with choco-berry, mint and sweet tobacco flavours. Seasoned oak is nicely integrated with chocolaty tannins. Pleasant savoury note on finish. Now–2032 Hewitson Dorrien Bank Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 G 92 Deep crimson. Lithe perfumed aromas of blackcurrant and fruit pastille with leafy notes. Ample blackberry and cassis flavours with herbal notes and mahogany oak influences well balanced by zesty balanced acidity and mouth-coating fine tannins. A vibrant wine already enjoyable but with staying power. 2026–2033 Penfolds Bin 407 Cabernet Sauvignon South Australia 2024 G 92 Deep crimson. Leafy, blackcurrant, dark cherry aromas with hints of bush garrigue/sage. Well-concentrated juicy blackcurrant, dark cherry, dark plum fruits, firm cedary/sappy tannins and underlying roasted walnut notes. Builds sappy/leafy at the finish with some graphite notes. A dominating structure, but typical of the style. 12 months in a combination of 16% new French (36% seasoned) and 5% new American (43% seasoned) oak hogsheads. Drink now – 2035. 14.5% alc
