Deep crimson. Intense blackcurrant, dark chocolate aromas with attractive roasted chestnut, marzipan notes. A classic Bin 389 with abundant cassis, blackberry fruits, lovely chocolaty textures and well-balanced roasted chestnut, vanilla, marzipan notes. Finishes firm, bittersweet and long. Very good density, complexity and flow. The star of the show. 13 months in 34% new and seasoned American oak hogsheads. 53% cabernet sauvignon, 47% shiraz. Coonawarra, Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale, Padthaway. Drink now – 2050. 14.5% alc Gatt Wines Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 G 96 Medium-deep crimson. Pure blackcurrant, musky black cherry violet aromas with hints of cola. Lovely cassis, black cherry, dark plum fruits, supple chalky textures, very good mid-palate richness and integrated acidity. Light grippy/graphite finish. Lovely pure fruit definition and classical claret structure. Now–2035 John Duval Wines Compono Cabernet Sauvignon 2024 G 96 Deep purple-crimson. A strong varietal intensity with a full spectrum of cabernet characters: cassis, blackberry, purple fruits, blueberry, garden herbs, thyme, leaf, pepper, cocoa, lively florals. Fine tannins work through the middle palate and there is an overall fine-tannin bright- fruited freshness and energy. Finishes on a lasting peppery note. Now– 2040 Paulmara Estates Apotigi Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 G 96 Deep crimson. Wax polish, black olive, dark plum aromas with espresso notes. Inky-deep with fresh dark plum, cassis fruits, fine graphite, touch grippy/muscular tannins and integrated roasted chestnut notes, Bittersweet and grippy at the finish. Shy at first, but opens up with a decant. Now–2042
