Mid-yellow. Deep-set aromas in honey, citrus, apricot kernel, ginger and fresh-baked bread. A richly defined viognier, warm and generous on the palate with wood spices flowing among layers of spiced honey, citrus, buttered toast, anise spice, orange blossom florals and musk. Complex youthful style. Now–2034 Sven Joschke Wine La Gabriella Sauvignon Blanc 2024 G 94 Mid-yellow. Reveals a full, charred fumé character cloaked in savoury lemongrass, lemon rind, honeyed toast, ripe gooseberry and an enduring grassy herbal-ness. Fuelled by spices on the palate and shining in bright, natural acidity, it shows the kind of textural qualities that will set it up well with food. Complex and interesting.
