Deep crimson. Intense and expressive liquorice, graphite, dark cherry, petrichor aromas. Inky deep wine with ample dark cherry, blackberry pastille fruits, fine slinky tannins and well-balanced savoury oak. Finishes chewy firm with aniseed, minerally notes. Lovely purity and energy. Single vineyard wine. Drink 2025–2036

Tim Smith Shiraz 2022

G 94+

Deep crimson. Classical choco-berry aromas with panforte notes. Richly flavoured wine with ample dark chocolate, dark berry fruits, plentiful chocolaty tannins and marzipan/cedarwood/touch bourbon new oak notes. Finishes chocolaty firm with a spike of aniseed. Very likable punter’s wine, rather than a critic’s choice. Drink now or keep, as the elements might fold and integrate further. Drink 2024–2028 14.5% alc Medium-deep crimson. Fresh blackberry pastille, pure aniseed stone fruit aromas with hint peppery notes. Well concentrated and vigorous wine with ample dark berry apricot fruits, some peppery/aniseed notes and underlying marzipan, vanilla notes. Finishes crunchy, firm and peppery. Very good richness, volume and torque. Drink now–2035 14.7% alc Arila Gardens Ironstone and Quartz Shiraz 2022 Hobbs of Barossa Ranges Lango Shiraz Viognier 2021 Deep crimson. Fresh dark cherry, dark chocolate, touch ferruginous aromas with herb garden, hint liquorice notes. Ample dark berry dark chocolate flavours on the palate with lovely rich savoury firm and sinuous tannins. Finishes chalky/rusty firm with chinotto, hint black olive notes. Drink now–2034 14.5% alc Barossa Boy Lifeblood Shiraz 2017 Medium-deep crimson. Complex dark chocolate, roasted almond, baked plum aromas with hints of spice. Generously proportioned and voluminous with deep-set choc-berry fruits, plentiful marzipan, vanilla notes and dense chalky tannins which fan out at the finish. Ripe and expressive. Drinking very well now–2028 14% alc G 94+
