Medium-deep crimson. Lovely ripe strawberry, dark plum aromas with hints of graphite. Sweet-fruited and sinuous with smooth red cherry strawberry, plummy fruits, some red liquorice notes, slinky fine textures, some mid-plate viscosity and persistent fresh vibrant acidity. Crunchy and pure with aniseed at the finish, In a great spot now. Drink now–2028

Medium-deep crimson. Beautiful inky musky plum, blackberry aromas with hints of bush garrigue. Generous and velvety textured with superb pure dark berry fruits, fine loose-knit chocolaty textures, some roasted hazelnut/walnut/aniseed notes. Finishes long and sweet with a graphite plume. Best as a medium-term wine, but really delicious to drink now. Drink now–2029 14.5% alc Henschke Johann’s Garden Grenache Mataro 2023 Medium crimson. Perfumed strawberry, red cherry, musky plum aromas with cola notes. Refreshing, buoyant and supple with lovely pure red cherry strawberry fruits, some musky cola notes, lovely mid-palate volume and lacy touch chalk textures. Tangy with persistent bright red berry fruits at the finish. Grenache gives the fruits and mataro the structure and length. Lovely to drink now; at its peak. 60% Grenache, 40% Mataro. Drink now–keep for a while 14.5% alc Hewitson Ungrafted Grenache 2023 Medium-deep crimson. Lovely strawberry, raspberry fruits with some Campari-like notes. Pure fruited and buoyant wine with ample raspberry, strawberry, red cherry fruits, loose-knit/lacy textures and lovely mid- palate viscosity. A light line of aniseed tightens and lengthens the palate. Drink now–2027 14% alc Schwarz Wine Co. Thiele Road Grenache 2023 Medium crimson. Lifted red plum, strawberry aromas with musky violet notes, Richly flavoured and juicy red cherry, strawberry, red plum flavours, some cola notes, fine lacy textures and fresh long minerally acidity. Drink now–2040 14.2% alc G 94+
