Well balanced wine with ample blackcurrant, pistacho, vanilla flavours, fine loose-knit chalky tannins and well integrated linear fresh acidity. Finishes chalky firm and long. Should develop well. 75% cabernet sauvignon, 25% merlot. 18 months in 60% new French oak. 13% alc Le Pavillon Rouge Score 94–95 Pale colour. Bitter lemon, grapefruit aromas with verbena toasty notes. Sweet fruited wine with ample grapefruit, tonic water, leesy flavours, fine loose-knit chalky textures, some mid-palate viscosity and fresh linear acidity. Oak dominates the back palate but should settle. Attractive minerally wine with fresh chewy tobacco notes. Very tactile wine. 55% semillon, 45% sauvignon blanc. 55% new oak. 14% alc Score 94–95 Deep crimson. Classical blackcurrant cedar aromas with wax polish, chinotto notes. Well balanced cassis, dark cherry fruits, fine velvet/ cedar tannins and toasty notes. Finishes cedary firm. Very good mid-palate buoyancy and freshness. Blend is approximately 60% cabernet sauvignon, 30% merlot, 10% petit verdot. Around 18 months in 50% new oak. 13% alc Château La Tour Carnet Score 93–94 Deep crimson. Fresh blackcurrant, praline, walnut, fig aromas with some herb notes. Blackcurrant pastille, praline fig flavours, fine supple/ velvety textures, some vanilla oak notes and integrated fresh acidity. 60% merlot, 35% cabernet sauvignon, 4% petit verdot, 1% cabernet franc. 16 months in 30% new oak. Château Clarke Score 92–93 Deep crimson. Fresh blackcurrant, chinotto hint black olive aromas with toasty vanilla notes. Well concentrated blackcurrant, black olive toasty flavours, fine grainy/ al dente tannins, some savoury roasted walnut complexity and integrated fresh acidty. Finishes firm with an inky plume. 70% merlot, 30% cabernet sauvignon. 16 months in approximately 70% new French oak. 13% alc Château Fourcas Hosten Score 92–93 Deep crimson. Blackcurrant, praline herb garden aromas with roasted chestnut notes. Generously concentrated wine with smooth blackcurrant/ blackberry, dark chocolate fruits, fine slinky textures and underlying malty oak notes. Finishes velvety firm. 60% cabernet sauvignon, 35% merlot, 5% petit verdot. Usually 12 months in around 30% new oak. 12.7% alc Medoc Château La Lagune
