2020 Reynella Cabernet Sauvignon

G 95

Deep crimson. Intense blackberry, cassis, roasted almond/chestnut aromas with star anise, herb garden notes. Well concentrated and velvety with ample blackberry, blackcurrant fruits, fine loose-knit grainy tannins, very good mid-palate volume and well-balanced roasted chestnut/vanilla notes. Builds up grainy/cedar firm at the finish with plenty of mineral length. A classic Cabernet style with ample ripe fruits, lovely complexity and torque. Should integrate further with bottle age. Drink 2024–2038 2019 Moss Wood Ribbon Vale Merlot G 95 Medium-deep crimson. Attractive musky dark plum aromas with hazelnut, praline notes. Generous, minerally and vigorous with saturated dark plum, mulberry, hazelnut, vanilla flavours, fine chalky al dente textures and long fresh integrated mineral acidity. Not powerful but graceful with lovely fruit complexity and vinosity. A cedary/chalky tannin plume at the finish with seductive plummy, cassis fruits. A lovely medium-bodied claret style which will build up complexity and richness with age. Drink 2023–2035 2020 Pikes The Hill Block Reserve Cabernet G 95 Yes, these can be brooding monsters in tough vintages, but when they are on song, they are so very good, and up there with the best Shiraz from the region. This is a powerhouse style that never loses its way, with tremendous balance that will help it to drink well over the medium term. Bright deep ruby, it opens with deliciously pure cassis fruits with a strong Clare undertow of warm slate beautifully integrated with high quality oak. Great energy follows on the palate, which is more in a mid-weight style, before dense yet fine mouth-coating tannins take over to deliver a long and strong finish. Exceptional and will drink well for some time to come. Drink 2025–2035 2020 Seppelt St Peters Shiraz G 95 Medium-deep colour. Lifted blackberry, dark chocolate, black olive, hint marzipan/ meaty aromas. Elemental blackberry, dark liquorice, demi-glace, roasted chestnut/ walnut flavours, very good mid-palate density and fine bittersweet tannins. Gravelly finish with dark berry/chinotto/aniseed notes. Should develop very well. Drink 2024–2032
