2021 Shaw and Smith Pinot Noir

Medium crimson. Intense strawberry, red cherry, herb garden, hint dried roses aromas and underlying savoury notes. Lovely pure juicy strawberry, red cherry fruits, fine chalky, hint al dente textures, very good mid-palate viscosity, and integrated savoury/roasted hazelnut notes. Finishes slinky and long. Extremely fine with attractive colour, definition, complexity and volume. Drink 2022–2028 2020 Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon G 96 Deep crimson. Fresh pure blackcurrant pastille aromas with hints of cedar. Superbly concentrated wine with fresh cassis, blackberry fruits, fine persistent grainy/al dente tannins, lovely density and underlying cedar notes. Builds up grippy firm, with attractive sweet fruit notes and very good mineral length. A classic style with superb volume, vim and vigour. Should develop very well. 16 months in new (21%), 1-year- old (38%), 2-year-old (31%) and 3-year-old (10%) French oak barrels. Drink now–2034 2020 Greenock Creek Alices Shiraz G 96 Deep crimson. Intense ripe blackberry, prune, dried apricot, mocha aromas with hints of liquorice. Inky deep wine with abundant blackberry, dark plum, stone fruit flavours, fine chocolaty tannins, underlying cedar/graphite notes. Finishes chewy firm with bittersweet chinotto notes. Generous and well-balanced wine with ultra- ripe plush fruits, attractive vigour and mineral length. Drink now–2030 2019 Alkina Polygon No. 5 Grenache G 96 Medium crimson. Intense raspberry, red plum, hint marzipan aromas. Generous and supple with ample red plum, raspberry, redcurrant fruits, superb mid-palate viscosity, fine lacy firm textures and integrated fresh acidity. Finishes bittersweet with rusty firm textures. Superb mineral length. Drink 2024–2030 2020 Farvie Syrah G 96 Deep colour. Fresh lifted blackberry, brambly, roasted walnut aromas with attractive bush garrigue, minerally/lacquer aromas. Very precise and polished wine with pure saturated blackberry, blueberry fruits, some roasted walnut notes, fine plentiful graphite firm tannins and integrated linear fresh acidity. The fruit folds around the tannins very well. A very modern style with power, density and torque to last the distance. An emerging classic. Drink 2024–2032
