Pale straw colour. Complex grapefruit, apricot aromas with grilled nut/honey/hint oilskin notes. Ample apricot, nectarine, grapefruit flavours, fine loose-knit chalky textures, very good viscosity/creaminess and integrated vanilla/marzipan notes. Finishes chalky and minerally. Screw cap and good cellaring has kept this wine in great condition and the wine highlights the fidelity of vineyard site. 13.5% alc Drink now–keep for a while 2021 Tyrrell’s Vat 9 Shiraz Hunter Valley, New South Wales G 93 Medium-deep crimson. Lovely ripe blackberry boysenberry aromas, a hint of graphite and underlying savoury notes. Elemental and juicy with ample dark and red berry fruits, brambly textures, some vanilla notes and fresh long integrated acidity. Finishes velvety with some graphite notes. Keep for a while to allow the elements to evolve. 13.5% alc Drink now–2032 2018 Tyrrell’s Vat 9 Shiraz Hunter Valley, New South Wales G 95 Medium-deep crimson. Intense blackberry dark chocolate aromas with espresso, roasted chestnut notes. Attractive ripe blackberry, blackcurrant fruits, fine brambly textures and integrated mocha/roasted chestnut notes. Finishes chocolaty and minerally. A classical style with lovely fruit complexity and vigour. 13.5% alc Drink now–2030 2014 Tyrrell’s Vat 9 Shiraz Hunter Valley, New South Wales G 94 Medium colour. Developed raspberry, redcurrant mocha, hint cedar aromas with tobacco leaf notes. Developed claret-like palate with attractive raspberry, mocha, dark chocolate flavours, fine grainy/leafy textures and underlying savoury oak. Finishes firm and tight. Very good fruit sweetness and complexity. 13.9% alc Drink now–2030 2007 Tyrrell’s Vat 9 Shiraz Hunter Valley, New South Wales G 95 Medium-deep colour. Complex raspberry, roasted walnut, wax polish aromas with hints of bush garrigue/star anise. Classical Hunter Valley Shiraz with developed red and dark berry fruits, fine loose-knit/hint grippy tannins, attractive inky density and underlying roasted walnut/hint bitumen notes finishes velvety firm. Still holding up very well and lovely density, complexity and mineral length. 13.5% alc Drink now–2030
