Medium deep crimson. Fresh raspberry, red plum, roasted walnut aromas with hints of chinotto. Supple and fruity with plentiful raspberry pastille, red plum, strawberry flavours, fine slinky textures, attractive mid-palate density and long fresh acidity. A fruit-driven style with aniseed notes at the finish. Drink now–2027 14.5% alc Hugo Wines 2021 Tempranillo $28 G 91 Medium deep crimson. Musky dark cherry, toasty mocha aromas with bay leaf herb notes. Juicy and expressive wine with plentiful dark cherry, mulberry fruits, attractive inky density, grainy textures and some savoury complexity plus high-pitched acidity at the finish. A glossy vibrant wine. Drink now–keep for a while 13.5% alc Richard Hamilton Wines Farm 12 2020 Mourvedre $38 G 91 Medium deep crimson. Attractive aniseed, raspberry, redcurrant, roasted walnut aromas. Well-concentrated raspberry, redcurrant, roasted walnut complexity with fine chalky/ al dente tannins. Finishes slinky firm and minerally. Drink now–2028 14.5% alc Serafino Wines Black Label 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon $28 G 91 Medium deep crimson. Fresh chinotto, leafy, blackcurrant aromas with savoury/ herb garden notes. Grainy touch grippy textured with plentiful dark berry fruits, supple tannins and underlying mocha complexity before finishing chewy firm. Attractive as a young wine – but not a long- term keeper. Drink now–keep for a while 14.5% alc Geddes Wines Seldom Inn 2021 Carignan $28 G 90 Medium deep colour. Fresh raspberry cranberry dried plum, rhubarb herb garden aromas. Supple fruit-driven wine with ample red and dark berry fruits plus lacy tannins. Simplicity but well-balanced wine with attractive viscosity and fresh mineral acidity. Less is more.
