Sweet red plum, strawberry fruits, fine loose knit chalky tannins, lovely mid-palate viscosity and underlying savoury nuances. Vibrant raspberry, musky plum aromas with chinotto notes. Supple and smooth with beautifully concentrated juicy raspberry, plum fruits, some cola notes, fine lacy textures and fresh linear acidity. Finishes crunchy and long–a delicious early drinking style. Drink now–2026 14.5% alc Angove McLaren Vale Warboys Vineyard 2019 Grenache $75 G 92 Medium crimson. Complex strawberry, espresso, roasted walnut aromas and flavours. Developed strawberry, walnut, marzipan flavours, a hint of liquorice, plentiful slinky chalky tannins and fresh crisp acidity. Very good volume and mineral length. Drink now–2028 14.5% alc d’Arenberg The Ironstone Pressings 2018 G 92 Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre $76 Medium crimson. Developed cherry, dark chocolate, coal dust, peat smoke aromas with vanilla/ nougat complexity. Richly concentrated almost soupy wine with dense dark berry, chocolaty, roasted walnut, peat smoke flavours and grippy firm ferruginous tannins. D’Arenberg style. Drink now–2032 Richard Hamilton Wines Burton’s 2020 Grenache $38 G 92 Medium deep crimson. Red cherry, redcurrant, cacao aromas with herb garden notes.
