Sweet and savoury wine with ample black cherry, star anise/ liquorice flavours, fine loose-knit tannins and well- balanced roasted walnut/ mocha notes. Finishes chewy firm with earthy complexity. Medium deep crimson. Medium-powered wine with redcurrant, raspberry, blueberry aromas with flinty/ earthy notes. Sweet fruited palate with strawberry, red currant, raspberry pastille fruits, fine lacy tannins, some good mid-palate viscosity, a touch of mocha and integrated acidity before finishing gravelly firm. Drink 2024–2032 13.5% alc Reynella Basket Pressed 2017 Shiraz $92 G 92 Deep crimson. Developed blackberry, brambly aromas with graphite, tobacco leaf, cola dust notes. Sturdy and compact with fresh blackberry, mulberry, black olive tapenade flavours, fresh inky density, fine al- dente/ grippy tannins, a touch of mocha and underlying linear quartz- like acidity. Finishes firm and tight with structure dominating the fruit.
