Beautifully balanced and classically proportioned wine with intense lemon curd, grapefruit glacé, apricot tonic water aromas and flavours, loose-knit chalky textures, lovely suppleness and viscosity, and well integrated crystalline acidity. Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc. 40% new oak. La Tour Blanche 96–97 Pale-medium colour. Lovely lemon glacé, grapefruit aromas with honey barley water notes, fine chalky/lacy textures, superb volume/viscosity and mineral length. Very generous and classical with lovely botrytis complexity, velocity and mineral torque. Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle. 100% new oak. Doisy Daëne 95–96 Pale-medium colour. Classical apricot nectarine lemon curd aromas with vanilla, marzipan, fine chalky al dente textures, lovely mid palate volume/richness and well integrated acidity. Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle. 30% new oak. Lafaurie Peyraguey 95–96 Pale-medium colour. Lifted apricot, nectarine, grilled almond, honey aromas. Densely concentrated and voluminous palate with ample stone fruit, honey flavours, some aniseed and attractive mineral length. Magnificent aromatics, but a touch heavy on the palate. Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle. 40% new oak. Guiraud 95–96 Pale-medium colour. Camomile, nectarine, tonic water, grapefruit touch honeyed aromas. Classically structured nectarine, grapefruit glacé flavours, lacy textures, lovely creamy generosity and persistent pure acidity. Beautifully expressive wine with attractive botrytis complexity and mineral length. Not as heavy as past vintages. Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc. 100% new oak. Coutet 95–96 Pale-medium colour. Fresh nougat, apricot, nectarine, honey aromas with orange peel notes. Richly concentrated and supple with lovely viscosity, lacy textures, some bittersweet notes and fresh quartz-like acidity. Very well balanced with lovely complexity and mineral length. 94% Semillon, 5% Sauvignon Blanc, 1% Muscadelle. Suduiraut 94–95+ Pale-medium colour. Classical apricot, nectarine, peach, lemon glacé aromas and flavours. Richly concentrated stone fruit flavours, attractive honey, marzipan notes, some al dente/chalky textures and persistent minerally acidity. Semillon. 50% new oak.
