94–95 Deep colour. Roasted hazelnut, crème caramel, panforte, demi glace, black cherry, dark plum aromas and flavours, persistent chalky dense tannins, very good density and mineral length. A touch of geosmin gives an earthy freshness. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. 15% alc Bordeaux Supérieur Grand Village Rouge 93–94 Deep colour. Balsamic, elderberry, mulberry hint aniseed aromas. Sweet dark plum, cassis, touch raspberry fruits, fine loose-knit chalky textures and some bittersweet notes. Very juicy finish with good density and richness. 80% Merlot, 20% Bouchet (Cabernet Franc). 14.7% alc Pey La Tour Reserve du Château 92–93 Deep crimson colour. Intense dark chocolate, liquorice, touch elderberry, dark plum, with notes of marzipan. Generous and supple with ample dark chocolate, dark plum, liquorice marzipan flavours, fine loose-knit chalky tannins, very good mid palate volume and fresh long acidity. 90% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc. 10% new oak, with a few batches in amphorae. 15% alc Castillon – Côtes de Bordeaux L’Aurage 95–96 Medium-deep crimson colour. Generous smoky bacon, plum, liquorice aromas and flavours, with sesame, cedar, roasted hazelnut notes, lovely fine bittersweet textures and well balanced acidity with very good volume and complexity. Chalky firm at the finish with some aniseed/ melted chocolate notes. Delicious. 100% Merlot. 100% new oak. 15% alc Montlandrie 91–92 Deep crimson colour. Fresh redcurrant, plum, herb garden, cedar with soy notes. Generous redcurrant, cassis, plum, bittersweet flavours and grippy al dente touch brambly tannins. Finishes tannic and juicy but will come around. 75% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. 14.5% alc
