Blackcurrant, blackberry, panforte, liquorice hint mint aromas with mocha notes. Richly concentrated and chocolaty with dark berry, panforte, demi glace, roasted coffee flavours, very good mid palate density and vigorous firm/al dente tannins. Firm chocolaty finish. 14.5% alc Frank Phelan 92–93 Deep colour. Intense blackcurrant, dark plum, blackberry aniseed, hint balsamic and mint aromas. Supple sweet fruited wine with dense dark berry, panforte flavours, fine graphite tannins, and fresh mineral/saline acidity. Finishes cedar firm. 14% alc Haut-Marbuzet 92–93 Deep crimson colour. Intense black cherry, liquorice, blackberry aromas. Surprisingly velvety with dark berry fruits, some musky notes and fine chocolaty tannins. Slinky firm finish with seductive sweet fruits. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, with small parcels of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Capbern 91–92 Medium-deep crimson colour. Blackcurrant, black olive, graphite aromas with marzipan roasted chestnut notes. Well concentrated inky textured wine with marzipan notes. Firm claret finish. 15% alcohol gives buoyancy and weight. 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot, 1% Cabernet Franc. 60% new oak. 15% alc Charme de Cos Labory 91–92 Medium-deep crimson colour. Cassis, leafy undergrowth, touch cacao aromas. Fresh cassis, mulberry, leafy touch black olive flavours, fine sinewy tannins, and well balanced savoury notes. Quite high-pitched acidity. 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Cabernet Franc, 20% Merlot. 20% new oak. 13% alc de Pez 91–92 Deep crimson colour. Dark cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate aromas and flavours with hint briary notes, firm dense chocolaty tannins, very good mid palate volume/viscosity and underlying savoury notes with well integrated acidity. Finishes sinewy firm. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 40% new oak.
