Slinky textured wine with ample dark cherry cassis fruits, fine sinewy long tannins, lovely freshness and mineral length. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot. 14% alc Le C des Carmes de Haut-Brion 92–93 Deep colour. Fresh mulberry, cassis chestnut aromas with herb notes. Beautifully concentrated mulberry blackcurrant fruits, long pippy/ vigorous tannins, savoury complexity and marked acidity. Finishes juicy and long. Elemental wine. 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 39% Merlot, 1% Petit Verdot. 13.5 % alc Carbonnieux 91–93 Medium-deep crimson colour. Intense red cherry, redcurrant aromas and flavours, fine chalky tannins and underlying savoury complexity. Finishes minerally, and long with attractive sweet fruit notes. Classical claret style with good aging potential. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot with small parcels of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. 30% new oak. Larrivet Haut-Brion 91–93 Medium-deep crimson colour. Pure red cherry, strawberry, redcurrant aromas with a touch of dark chocolate. Attractive buoyant style with ample redcurrant, strawberry, cassis flavours, fine grainy tannins and well integrated savoury oak. Finishes firm and tight with linear freshness. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc. 30% new oak. Latour Martillac 90–92 Sauvignon. 40% new oak. Domaine de la Solitude Medium-deep crimson colour. Black cherry, dark chocolate aromas and flavours with plentiful dense chalky tannins, inky mid palate generosity and fresh indelible acidity.
