Finishes long and sweet with a touch of grip. 70% Sauvignon Blanc, 30% Semillon. 14% alc Pape Clement 95–96 Deep crimson colour. Attractive dark chocolate/mocha, blackcurrant aromas and flavours, fine chocolaty dense tannins, lovely mid palate richness/volume and underlying marzipan/hint vanilla notes. Finishes chocolaty and long. A very impressive core of fruit with suppleness and mineral length so should develop very well. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. Around 70% new oak. Smith Haut Lafitte 95–96 Deep crimson colour. Classical blackcurrant cedar aromas with mocha/ hint marzipan notes. Beautifully concentrated wine with dense dark berry fruits, bittersweet textures, lovely volume, richness and mineral length. All the elements in balance. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot. 30–60% new oak. Haut-Bailly II 94–95 Medium-deep colour. Very pretty plum, violet, with a touch of aniseed and hint of dark chocolate. Richly concentrated dark plum, blackcurrant fruits, fine bittersweet graphite tannins, very good volume, underlying savoury notes and fresh indelible acidity. Finishes al dente firm with attractive mineral length. 65% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Petit Verdot. 14% alc La Garde 94–95 Deep crimson colour. Intensely perfumed blackcurrant, roasted chestnut, hint vanilla with hints of wax polish. Well rounded wine with ample blackcurrant, dark cherry, plum fruits, roasted chestnut, roasted hazelnut flavours, fine loose-knit grainy/touch chocolaty tannins and fresh juicy acidity. Seductive smooth sweet berry fruits with earthy notes. 63% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon. 35% new oak, with small percentage in amphorae.
