BDX Malbec Cabernet Petit Merlot 2020 Deep crimson. Blackcurrant, elderberry, praline aromas with roasted coffee notes. Generous and velvety smooth with ample inky black fruits, fine slinky textures and superb oak complexity. Finishes claret-firm with a lovely chocolaty plume. Marvellous. Should develop brilliantly well. 2022–2036 Cloudburst G 94 Malbec 2018 Medium-deep crimson. Intense dark plum, blackberry, brambly aromas with roasted chestnut, mocha, praline notes. Lovely dark plum, blackberry, dark chocolate flavours, fine plentiful firm bittersweet tannins with attractive mid-palate richness and mocha, crème brûlée notes. Finishes chocolaty firm and minerally. Delicious. The grapes are destemmed, and hand sorted prior to open-top fermentation. The wine is pressed to barrel without extended maceration or extra skin contact. Matured primarily in new French oak for 18–21 months. Only 1,200 bottles made. 2022–2028 McHenry Hohnen G 94 Grenache Syrah Mataro 2020 Medium-deep colour. Fresh musky plum, dark chocolate aroms with hints of herb garden. Very expressive wine with lovely richness of fruit, surprisingly firm chocolaty textures and very good mid-palate viscosity/ fleshiness. Best to drink young, but delicious to drink. 2022–2025 Moss Wood G 94 Ribbon Vale Merlot 2019 Medium-deep crimson. Gentle dark plum, chinotto, hint vanilla aromas and flavours, lovely fine grainy tannins, attractive inky complexity and fresh long mineral acidity. All the elements in balance. A classic claret style. 2022–2032 Moss Wood G 93 Pinot Noir 2019 Medium crimson. Fragrant red cherry, redcurrant, roasted walnut aromas with herb garden, hint of peppermint notes. Well concentrated ample wine with red cherry, strawberry, leafy flavours, lovely mid-palate density and fine supple loose-knit tannins. Roasted walnut notes at the finish. Not classic, but the viscosity and vigour are neatly balanced, giving the wine charm and presence. 2022-2026
