Ribbon Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 Medium-deep crimson. Fresh blackcurrant, dark plum aromas with marzipan, herb garden, violet notes. Inky deep with juicy blackcurrant, plum, mulberry fruits, fine slinky textures and underlying roasted chestnut, roasted almond notes. Finishes al dente firm with lovely mineral length. Give it another year of bottle age before drinking. A dark horse vintage with lovely transparency and plenty of cellaring potential. 91% cabernet sauvignon, 3% cabernet franc, 3% merlot, 3% malbec. 2023–2035 Oates Ends G 94 Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 Medium-deep crimson. Intense dark chocolate, inky blackcurrant/ mulberry aromas with some grilled nut notes. Well concentrated but elemental wine with blackcurrant, mulberry, dark chocolate, hint saline notes, fine brambly textures and savoury oak notes. Finishes chocolaty firm. Expressive and sturdy wine with plush fruit and youthful structure. Needs some years to come together. 2024–2034 Robert Oatley G 94 The Pennant Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 Medium-deep crimson. Dark cherry, blackberry, coal dust aromas with vanilla notes. Velvety smooth with dark cherry, blackberry, dark chocolate flavours, fine supple textures and some vanilla, roasted almond notes. Finishes chocolaty. 100% cabernet sauvignon. 2022–2028 Rosabrook Wines G 94 “Dear Father” Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 Deep crimson. Very attractive blackberry, mocha, roasted coffee aromas with hints of sage. Sweet-fruited wine with deep-set blackberry pastille, praline, mocha flavours, fine grainy tannins, superb mid-palate richness and long fresh mineral acidity. A plume of tannins at the finish. Very well made crowd-pleasing style. 100% cabernet sauvignon. 2022–2028 Wills Domain G 94 Paladin Hill Matrix 2020 Deep crimson. Blackcurrant, blackberry aromas with vanilla/sesame oak notes. Well concentrated blackcurrant, blackberry, chocolaty flavours, plentiful gravelly tannins and underlying savoury oak notes. Finishes leafy firm with very good mineral length. Keep for a while as this will lead to more complexity and mid-palate richness. 63% cabernet sauvignon, 22.2% malbec, 7.4% petit verdot, 7.4% malbec. 2024–2032
