G 95

Attractive bouquet of white peach, grilled nectarine, flint and raw cashew. Bright and fresh, excellent intensity and drive, plenty of mealy nougat complexity building towards the finish line. Finishes long and mealy. Now–2032 2022 Las Vino Wildberry Springs Chardonnay G 95 Subtle bouquet of white nectarine, lemon, grapefruit, fresh, crisp and linear, lively with a fine cut of acidity. Fine-boned and linear. Finishes With grapes sourced from the Uley vineyard, one of the oldest Chardonnay vineyards in the elevated Piccadilly Valley sub-region of the Adelaide Hills, this is a concentrated, delicious, fruit-laden wine which will delight lovers of full-flavoured Chardonnay. Juicy, ripe white nectarine flavours are at the fore, underpinned by refreshing grapefruit accents. The mid- palate is where all the action is, and the acidity is soft, balanced and integrated. Stylish oak plays a supporting role, barely perceptible but adding faint savoury detail. It is a weighty, silky, generous wine with excellent fruit intensity and purity. 2025–2032 2022 Shaw + Smith M3 Chardonnay G 95 long with mealy cashew complexity. Now–2032 2022 Barratt Uley Vineyard Piccadilly Valley Chardonnay Pale colour. Lovely white peach, nectarine, grapefruit, tonic water aromas with grilled nut, hint marzipan notes. Delicious drinking wine with plentiful peach, nectarine, apricot flavours, fine chalky textures, classical creamy notes and underlying marzipan, hint vanilla notes. This is a textbook modern Adelaide Hills Chardonnay; not a long-term keeper but it’s brilliantly balanced and ready to enjoy. Like Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz, M3 has become a classic wine of first resort with buyers wanting consistency and reliability. Now–keep for a while 2021 Vasse Felix DHJ1 Single Plot Chardonnay G 95 Pale colour. White peach, white apricot, cashew nut, tonic water notes. Very different to the Heytesbury with a nod to laissez-faire wine-making and minimalism. Now–2030 G 95
