Whistler Wines Estate Shiraz 2023 G 92 This fine Barossa Valley Shiraz is a crimson/ cherry red hue. The nose gives us aromas of red fruits, with raspberries to the fore, along with herbs, redcurrants and florals. Very much a red-fruited style, this has pleasing freshness with a juicy palate. It is well balanced, showing good structure and decent length, before finishing with ultra-fine tannins.
Drink now–2035 Yelland & Papps Single Vineyard Stone Well Syrah 2024
G 92
From a single vineyard in the Barossa, which was planted in 2000, this has a dark magenta hue. Fresh and youthful, there are aromas of raspberries, red apples, spices, florals and red fruits. Seductively textured, this is ripe with soft and cushiony tannins. There is a fine line of acidity which runs the length, which is impressive in itself, and a touch of leather towards the finish. Drink now–2033 Barossa Boy Wines Double Trouble Shiraz Cabernet 2023 G 91 Medium-deep crimson. Minty dark berry aromas and flavours with graphite flinty notes, fine supple textures, very good mid-palate richness and well-integrated acidity. Builds to a leafy/ al dente finish with aniseed notes. Early drinking bistro-type wine that opens up in the glass. Drink now–soon.
