Seabrook Wines Seabrook Tiger Moth Shiraz 2023

G 92

A vibrant purple hue, the nose gives us plums, mulberries, cold tea, florals, warm earth and chocolate. The oak is a fraction clunky at the moment but it is in the process of integration. The palate has a sleek and supple texture with fine tannins and very good length. Has an exciting future ahead and should come together over the next decade. Drink now–2035 Shanahans Wines The Old Dog Shiraz 2023 G 92 Deep crimson. Inky dark berry, flinty aromas and flavours, fine chocolaty textures and underlying marzipan, roasted walnut notes. Touch brambly at the finish with saline notes. Drink now–2030 St Hallett Garden of Eden Shiraz 2023 G 92 Dark crimson. Dark plum, blackberry chinotto aromas with hints of spice. Generous and inky with ample dark berry fruits and fresh long savoury tannins. Finishes dry with an aniseed kick. Drink now–2030 Stage Door Wine Co Shiraz 2021 G 92 A lovely example of Barossa Shiraz for drinking any time over the next decade. The colour is a blood-red/garnet. The nose offers notes of spices and herbs, red fruits, warm earth and chocolate. This is fresh and youthful, has good direction, fine tannins and impressive length. There is an attractive flick of bitterness, just on the finish. Shows the advantages that come from great vintages. Drink now–2035 The Willows Vineyard G7 Shiraz 2023 G 92 The name is not some obscure reference to faceless bureaucrats in endless talkfests, but rather, G Seven refers to the seventh generation of the Scholz family, making wine in the Barossa for many years. The wine has a purple hue with a dark crimson rim. There is good oak in evidence here, still in the process of integrating. The nose gives us notes of dry herbs, chocolate, beefstock, cloves, bay leaves and even a touch of gum leaves. There is juicy acidity, still slightly mouthpuckering, with fine tannins on a finish of decent length. Has a good future ahead (not something one might always say about the talkfest version of the G7). Drink now–2037
