The Willows Vineyard Bonesetter Shiraz 2022

G 93

A deep crimson/purple hue. The nose is full of notes of chocolate, cassis and plums. All very Barossan, all very delicious. There are also touches of smoked meats, dried herbs and cocoa powder. A well-focused wine of medium length with an attractive lingering finish. Bright acidity runs the full journey, which finishes with fine, satiny tannins. A ten-year proposition, there is a lot to like here. Drink now–2035 Two Hands Charlie’s Garden Shiraz 2022 G 93 Deep crimson. Fresh blackberry pastille, roasted walnut aromas with hints of sage and spice. Well balanced wine with ample blackberry, dark cherry fruits, fine slinky tannins and underlying roasted walnut notes. Finishes Claret/ ferruginous-firm with peppery sage nuances. Drink now–2035 Whistler Wines Estate Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 G 93 Medium-deep crimsons. Intense blackcurrant minty herbgarden aromas with espresso notes. Classical cabernet palate with pure cassis herb flavours and fine grainy tannins. Finishes bittersweet and minerally. Drink now–2036 Z WINE HEDLEY Shiraz 2022 G 93 Another cracking effort from the Zerk sisters. The colour is an inky dark maroon. There is quite a spicy nose and still evidence of some toasty oak lingering. If one can give this wine two years before opening, it will reward, and then continue to do so for at least another decade. The wine also offers notes of blackberries, mulberries, chocolate, soy and black cherries. There is power and focus here, a supple structure and texture, good balance, a long and lingering finish with sleek tannins. Impressive stuff. Drink 2027–2037 Z WINE SECTION 3146 Shiraz 2023 G 93 The colour here is dark magenta, while the nose offers exciting notes of blackberries and blueberries, with spices and coffee beans and deftly handled oak. The wine has finesse, balance, length and focus. The palate is dominated by chocolate and cherry notes. There is firm grip here with a persistent finish. A delicious style for enjoying over the next decade. Like this a lot. Drink now–2035
